Hello,

I’m Shivali Verma, an incoming PhD student at the Sussex Neuroscience 4-Year Program.

I’ve been fortunate to explore neuroscience through my master’s studies at University College London, Sorbonne University, and the École normale supérieure—experiences that deepened both my curiosity and confusion (the good kind).

Across various labs and classrooms, I’ve found myself drawn to questions about language, consciousness, and how art and space shape the brain. Of course, like most people in neuroscience, I also keep stumbling into new rabbit holes I didn’t know existed.

This blog is my way of trying to make sense of it all—curating what I read, documenting what I learn, and reflecting on how my understanding evolves.

If you’re here, I hope something sparks your interest among these ramblings.

Yours neurally,
Shivali
